In this post, I'll share some general guidelines for selecting outfits for holiday family pictures, along with outfit suggestions tailored for my 2024 Boston holiday sessions.
General Outfit Tips:
Proper Fit: Choose clothing that fits well, especially for kids. Avoid outfits that are too large to prevent a baggy look in photos.
Simple Patterns & No Logos: Limit busy patterns, large logos, and cartoon characters on clothing. If you want to incorporate checkered shirts, let just one person wear it to keep things visually balanced. Holiday-themed patterns are great, but I suggest keeping them to accents like collars, sleeves, or pants.
Comfort and Style: Opt for outfits that combine style with comfort. Since there will be some walking and movement, make sure everyone, especially the kids, is dressed warmly and comfortably for better cooperation during the session.
Coordinate, Don’t Match: Instead of identical outfits, choose colors and styles that complement one another to create a cohesive look.
